Machine Sentry® Mobile MSM2

Machine Sentry® Mobile MSM2

A wireless tri-axial vibration and temperature sensor, Machine Sentry® Mobile 2 enables data collection using a Bluetooth® enabled Android device.

Machine Sentry® Mobile 2

Machine Sentry® Mobile 2 (MSM2) is a wireless sensor used for collecting vibration and temperature data. Its wireless capability means it is safe and easy to use in places where wired accelerometers can’t easily be operated, such as behind guards or on large, moving machinery.

An integral magnet allows the sensor to be placed exactly where it is needed so that accurate and repeatable measurements can be taken. MSM2 utilises a 4-channel multiplex data acquisition system incorporating 3 internal accelerometers which provide tri-axial measurement of vibrations and temperature. A further sensor or a fixed protection panel can be added to the fourth channel if required.

Key Capabilities of Machine Sentry® Mobile 2

Tri-Axial Vibration Monitoring: Simultaneously captures horizontal, vertical, and axial vibration data for comprehensive equipment condition insights.

Infrared Temperature Scanning: Built-in non-contact sensor for efficient surface temperature readings during inspections.

Stroboscopic Functionality: Includes an integrated strobe light to support rotational speed validation and visual RPM checks.

Wireless Data Transfer via Bluetooth®: Easily connects to the Machine Sentry® app for seamless vibration and temperature data uploads from the field.

Field-Ready Battery Life: Rechargeable battery ensures reliable operation throughout long shifts and demanding route surveys.

Industrial-Grade Durability: Designed to perform in harsh environments with a tough, protective outer casing.

Automated Route Management: Supports structured inspection routes and automatically identifies assets based on location or tag.

Compact, Ergonomic Design: Lightweight and easy to handle, enabling one-handed operation during plant walkarounds.

What is Machine Sentry® Mobile MSM2?

Accurate condition monitoring starts with precise data capture. The Machine Sentry® Mobile MSM2 helps ensure reliability by using QR code scanning to link measurements to the correct asset every time.

Each machine can be assigned a unique QR code, which is scanned before data collection begins. This minimises the chance of misidentification and guarantees that the right data is associated with the right equipment.

Optional mounting plates can be installed at key measurement points to maintain consistent placement and orientation. This makes it easy for operators  even those with limited training to collect accurate and repeatable results using the Machine Sentry® Mobile system.
